Cosford Branch Members at RAF Scampton
Who we are
The Cosford Branch is one of the semi-autonomous branches of the National Service (RAF) Association that can be found through out the United Kingdom. We have almost one hundred paid up members, all of whom did their National Service in the Royal Air Force.
We meet on the second Tuesday in every month from 11.00 hrs at The Hive, which is the Families Club at RAF Cosford, with a regular attendance over forty-five.
The Branch is run by an elected committee and at our regular meetings, we meet up for a drink or two, listen to a guest speaker, have a meal available if we wish, and generally reminisce about old times and put the world to rights.
What we do
In addition to our regular Tuesday meetings, we partake fully in events organised by the National Committee of the NS(RAF)A. These include the annual Parade and Reunion that is usually held in June at the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, the Remembrance Day Parade at the Cenotaph in London, and the Battle of Britain Memorial Parade, to name just a few of the events.
We also organise our own events and visits to places of interest. We have recently visited RAF Shawbury, RAF Waddington, RAF Scampton, the Museum Reserve collection at Stafford, and Coventry Aviation Museum,
